Josh Allen wants Micah Hyde to rejoin the Bills for ‘one more year’ as his hunt for a new team continues
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Free agent safety Micah Hyde might want to reconsider where he sees himself playing next season because Josh Allen wants him back with the Buffalo Bills. Allen, along with several Bills players, were present at his charity softball game at Sahlen Field on Sunday afternoon.

Despite leaving the team and deciding to try his luck elsewhere, Hyde is still a well-respected football player in Buffalo. However, it seems that his former teammates want him to come back, especially Josh Allen

After Jordan Poyer‘s contract ended, the Bills have a completely new backfield for the 2024 season. So it would be beneficial for Allen to have someone familiar take care of his blindside.

After the softball game ended, the fans started chanting “One more year”, with the Bills quarterback leading them as the conductor. It went on for a while until Micah Hyde took the microphone and gave a cheeky reply.

Okay, okay. Alright, we will have the softball game one more time, okay? We will do it one more time. Micah Hyde said

Allen teased him for staying with the Bills, and he smartly changed the subject to the softball game. Anyway, the 27-year-old wouldn’t mind playing softball, but he would be overjoyed if Hyde decided to come back to Orchard Park.

Micah Hyde wants to play for the Buffalo Bills in 2024

During the softball event, the two-time second-team all-pro expressed his desire to don the blue and white of the Bills again in 2024. In an interview with WIVB-4, the 33-year-old Hyde revealed.

I'm enjoying my time with the family. And if there's a case where I can get back on the football field, I would love to do it. Especially in this uniform. Micah Hyde said

The pro bowler played 14 games in 2023 after missing out on the previous season due to a neck injury. Hyde participated in a total of 92% of the defensive snaps, recording 54 tackles and two interceptions for Sean McDermott’s defense.

When asked about how he would feel if the Buffalo Bills came calling again, Hyde seemed positive.

It would mean the world to me and my family to be able to do that. But you know, it's a ways away. Micah Hyde added

One thing is for sure: Poyer will not be returning to Buffalo as a Bills player. He signed with the Miami Dolphins. Poyer was among the participants at the charity softball game, from which they generated more than $625,000.
