As the Premier League season comes to a close, Tottenham Hotspur are shifting their focus to a busy summer transfer window, with the club expected to make significant changes to their squad.

Manager Ange Postecoglou has recently emphasised the need for changes, with a new striker reportedly on top of priorities for the club.

Several names have been linked, among which Ivan Toney is considered as one of the top targets.

The Brentford striker is set to be one of the most sought-after players in the upcoming transfer window.

Tottenham’s Interest in Ivan Toney

According to ESPN, Tottenham are now “considering a move” for Toney. The English forward has proven himself as one of the top strikers in the Premier League.

Last season, he scored an impressive 20 goals in 33 league appearances, placing him third in the top scorers list, behind only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.

Despite missing half of this season due to a betting-related ban, Toney has still managed to make an impact, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 17 matches. Since joining Brentford, he has been a standout performer, amassing 72 goals and 23 assists in 141 appearances for the club.

However, Tottenham are expected to face stiff competition for Toney. Other top Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal, are also reportedly interested in the 28-year-old striker.

In fact, as per a recent report from Spain, Manchester United have already launched an initial bid worth almost €70m, to lure Toney away from Brentford.

Postecoglou’s Plans for Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou has been vocal about the need for changes at Tottenham. Alongside a new striker, the club is expected to target several key positions, including a midfielder, a centre-back, and additional full-backs.

The focus on strengthening the squad reflects the club’s ambitions to compete at the highest level next season.
